Reiki precepts

Handed down from Mikao Usui as a part of the oral tradition these spiritual precepts are a call for developing inner peace. They provide inner support in adapting life in such a way that healing for the body, peace for the mind and happiness in life are made possible.

In order to reach this goal it is necessary to recognize irregularities in one’s life and to find what caused them. Only then peace of mind can be achieved. This opens the way for compassion.

The Art of Reiki heals first the body, which in turn strengthens the mind. Learning to use and feel the healing energy strengthen the personality. The precepts for a better living provide support to the Reiki practitioner.

Using the Art of Reiki is a way of living. Day after day the Reiki practitioner tries consequently to apply the precepts in order to master his life. It promotes from within oneself the qualities of loving, caring, growing, compassion, trusting, peace, calm and serenity.

Keeping the Path in sight.

Nothing in this life lasts forever. Therefore one must keep trying day after day to give one’s best. The path of Reiki is above all a spiritual exercise. It means, one has to remain humble and shows respect to others. If one cannot keep this in mind, one should not pursue this path, where one has to fight first against one’s inner enemy (for ex. old patterns).

Precepts for a better inner life

Just for today, do not worry.
Just for today, do not anger.
Honour your parents, teachers and elders.
Earn your living honestly,
Show gratitude to every living thing.

Dr. Mikao Usui

These are a spiritual teaching and code of ethics for daily living.  All Reiki Practitioner should try to include these precepts in his daily life. Above all it means:

Just for today, I use my hands for healing practice and self treatment!

Only on the basis of daily practice one can feel and grow up with the energy and understand how much a privilege this is.
