Relaxation with Chi Gong

Nervousness, internal unrest, physical imbalance, tension, discontent, overload and stress-conditioned diseases are often considered phenomena of our time. Who does not wish for himself occasionally a way to inner relaxation, a journey to one’s own self, some kind of "appointment only with his self". The main goal of any relaxation procedures is to loosen up the body from all the accumulated tensions. This improves positively the body as well as the mind. Movements and relaxation contribute in different ways to the well-being. Relaxation is nothing mystical.  It is something very natural, which can be learned exactly the same as movement.

Here are the noticeable effects that occur during relaxation:

· Reduction of the heart & respiration rate

· Deeper breath depth

· Decrease of the muscle tension

· Feeling of warmth  

· Pain reduction

According to Chinese medicine, Qigong (= Chi gong) has a long tradition and it benefits the health. It helps you achieve the psychological and physical balance you are searching through: Breathing, Relaxation and "Interiorization". There is a very close relation between mental state and breathing. Deep and slow breathing goes together with a state of calm and serenity. On the other hand, a state of anguish, anxiety, nervousness and stress in general go together with fast and superficial breathing. Therefore the body benefits from exercising it.

In this course all exercises are made in standing, seats and in lying. They are simple and can be practiced everywhere. Deep and slow breathing goes together with a state of calm and serenity. It will be practiced with music.

Chi Gong I : Basic Workshop

This class focuses on learning basic physical postures, breathing techniques, and balancing the energy in the body. Basic Qigong training includes the practices of how to regulate the body, breathing, mind, Qi, and finally Shen (spirit). The effective exercises will reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality, and enhance the immune system. This will bring your body and energy into balance.

Chi Gong II: Shaolin Wahnam Chi Kung (from Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit)

In this class ancient techniques from the Shaolin monastery in China will be taught. This specific Chi Gong is characterised by simple, but very effective exercises, easy to learn and to apply in one’s daily life. Blocked and stagnant Qi leads to pain and disease. Through regular practice an health improvement can be achieved.

Chi Gong II: The Soaring Crane (from Zhao Jin Xiang)

In Asia the Crane symbolises longevity. Therefore all movements in this set of exercises remind the natural movements of the crane. It is a kind of "Anti Aging Therapy".  It enables the practitioner to use his body as an instrument to increase the energy flow to the internal organs by opening up the blocked energy in his channels.  These flowing movements produce a healing effect in one's physical and emotional states, as it strengthens life force.

A good form to start with, as it systematically cleanses and opens the acupoints.  It's a complete system including moving and standing forms. It is a form of meditation in movement.
